You could almost certainly steam it off if you really wanted to, then re-glue it.
I *think* those manuals normally have the BBC Microcomputer System logos in
that position - why anyone would want to cover that up, I don't know.
Afraid I do have a 'normal' cover scan but it's back in the UK, so not much
help right now!
I can't think of a non-BBC application for the manual. Torch just did their
own thing regarding hard disk systems, and I don't think the manual ever
shipped with any of Acorn's business computer range. None of the System
machines had a Winchester, and nor did the Atom. The communicator was totally
different so it's not relevant there. Would it be relevant for the Filestore?
(I can't remember the contents of the manual now).
Possibly the manual was shipped to a company that wouldn't like the BBC ties,
and so Acorn covered the logo up?
Annoying thing is, I'm sure I've seen another manual that has a sticker like
this on the cover - I'll try and remember to check when I'm back in the UK.
