I imagine it covers up the BBC owl and lettering similar to that found
on later BBC B function key strips, which was found on quite a lot of
Acorn manuals at the time, with very little mention of Acorn themselves!
I am not sure why it would be covered up but I've always got the
impression that Acorn & the BBC fell out probably in around 1986/1987
because you see official Acorn documentation from this time referring
to the Master as the "Acorn Master 128" rather than BBC Master 128
and of course there is no mention of Acorn's involvement anywhere on
the Domesday discs!
The manual itself is proof positive of the existence of WFS (Winchester
filing system) as the early version of ADFS, referring back to an earlier
message on the list in this respect.
Best wishes,
Ian

Subject: [BBC-Micro] Acorn Manual Re-labelling
Hi chaps --
I picked up a pile of Beeb stuff tonight, and among it was a manual
for the Winchester disk.
Now here's the interesting point - the brand "Acorn Computer" was
obviously added to the front cover later, as a label. Does anyone
have any idea why?
