And there I was telling my Cambridge Co-Processor that he might meet up with
an ARM1 wedge on a little speed dating...

Back to topic, the wedge is generic for all wedge uses, just the PSU, app.
board and top+rear plastic film is different. I'd imagine the cheese wedge
design came pretty much the same time as the Beeb itself. Acorn wanted a
highly expandable computer in the Proton, these modular wedges fitted the
bill nicely.

I remember getting the 6502 Second Processor in February 1984 (my
birthday!), I know it had been on order for over six months. I vaguely
recall someone with Prestel on a BBC-B in early 1983, I can't remember if it
was a wedge or something else though.
