Subject: cassettes ..
Thanks to the local freecycle list, I've just been given another B,
plus loads of software. I'm slowly working my way through it.
So far out of the pile I've got 42 original software packages, of
which about half I can't see on stairwaytohell, bbc lives or acorn
preservation project sites after an albeit quick search, - these are
mostly educational titles, but a fair few games too.
What's the best to do with these? Most of them are cassette... I've
not tried digitising tapes before, and haven't really got the time to
start trying now. Is there anybody who knows what to do who fancies
taking these and doing whatever is necessary to preserve them and
forward to the relevant sites?

I've also been given a huge pile of 5.25" floppies. I've not gone
thruogh it properly yet, but from the labels most look to be data
backups from a PC accounts system. There are a handful of original
software discs are loose in there, though, plus copies, both BBC and
PC.. I've already found a "backup" copy of the only program I ever
sold commercially, the OBBS bulletin board software :-) I'll have to
fire it up, see if I know which board (if any) it was used on!
