Yes, an Econet-Ethernet bridge would be good. So presumably, just
to get my thinking straight on this...
You would have the Bridge device plugged into your Econet port on
the Beeb and you would send a command via Econet which would be
received in the Bridge and then be transmitted into the World Wide
Web from the Ethernet side of the Bridge...
...and then the Ethernet bit connected to the MDFS picks it up, sends
it into the MDFS via Econet, the MDFS does what it needs to do and
sends the response out via Econet via Ethernet via the Web via Ethernet
via Econet to the remote Beeb!
Is that roughly how it works?
If so, then it sounds perfect as it would appear to the end user just
like using Econet over a very long distance, which is what I would be
trying to do.
If anyone wants to take the Ethernet side of things further then the
offer of the MDFS is here!
Best wishes,
Ian

Hmmm.... from that, it sounds like you're basically giving the users
command line access to the beeb at your end. I'm not sure that it
would be any easier, unless you could use something like the <mini on
a serial port> filing system discusse previous that I can't find the
name of right now..
Now what would be interesting is if you were to use an
Econet-Ethernet bridge (were we just waiting on software to finish
that project?) to directly hang the MDFS on the internet; that way
the rest of us could access it directly, either using the same to get
a beeb online, or directly from an emulator ..!
Now that would be cool... classic hardware at each end!
