Subject: Econet NIC disappeared from config
Hi all,
As some people recently had sent messages to the list wherein they
had drawn their LAN layout with /both/ Econet and Ethernet, I do hope
some of you can help me out, as I'm completely stuck.
And at least Jonathan G.H. has an Econet/Ethernet machine. This is
an A4000 and not fitted with RISC OS Select or Adjust I assume!
Econet is fully back in RISC OS Select/Adjust, and indeed it was
here working, although not in regular use.
The problem is a year old now, and has been caused by UNIPOD:
After having installed UNIPOD in my machine, Econet NIC (and PPP)
disappeared from the Interfaces Config. Although UNIPOD is removed
since then, I cannot get Econet back in network config.
A problem now is RISC OS Select/Adjust, where networking is
implemented differently from older versions, so I'm far from sure
what details I should give you. I even don't know if anyone of you
is working with RISC OS 4 Select/Adjust at all. Not knowing that,
it seems inappropiate to send the same story as posted to
the RISC OS Select mailing list???
So the problem is that my Econet NIC is not recognised anymore.
As I haven't any clue how this recognition is supposed to work
under/with RISC OS Select/Adjust, I have no idea how to proceed.
First question seems to be if it makes sense - to you all - to
ask about that here?
greetings,
Johan
