Subject: Two Ronnies Beeb

Just watched an old episode last night of "The Two Ronnies"
from 1984 with a doctor's surgery sketch where Ronnie Corbett
goes in for the consultation to be confronted by a computer screen
and keyboard and Ronnie Barker pops up on the screen to say that
"this surgery is now fully automated."

The keyboard was set at an angle on what looked like a wooden
block but it was clearly a BBC micro keyboard, with the keys coloured
white. And there was a "Domesday" effect where BBC text was
overlaid over the pictures of Ronnie Barker as he said a number of
options A,B,C etc. which then flashed up on screen. And you could
even see the cursor flashing top left before he read out the options!

Is this an early example of Domesday/Genlock on a BBC Model B?

Best wishes,

Ian
