Hi Jason
I have a GP2X, bought it last Christmas and have been happy with it.
The latest ones have a better joystick cap but I bought a replacement one
off that was good.
I currently use it to play videos if I am away or play homebrew games and
Emulation (Mame, Gameboy, NES, NeoGeo, PCEngine and soon to try Amiga). I
have not tried the BBC emulator due to it not sounding like it is quite
ready for full use yet. There are some great emulators that I have not tried
yet including Spectrum and Commodore.
The build quality is okay, I would not say great but it survives being
dropped. There is plent of support by Homebrew programmers and there are now
commercial games starting to appear. There is also a great community of
people on the boards that can help see
http://www.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,1 for downloads and
http://www.gp32x.com/board/ for the boards and http://www.gp2x.co.uk/ to buy
one.
I would certainly recommend one if you are into portable gaming and
emulation.
Matt
