Many thanks to everyone providing input!

Most of the drives I have contain jumpers with the rather cryptic
abbreviations:

MX
HS
HM
HC

MM
MS

Any help decoding these and working out their relevance would be
appreciated as I think maybe these might hold some joy... Also the term
'resistor pack' seems to be used a fair bit. I realise this would be
different for virtually every drive/revision in existence; but a clue as to
what I might be looking for would be gratefully received..
