Subject: Tube File Copying
Can anybody point me to a file copying utility which works across
filing systems which will:
a) work correctly across the Tube
b) use all the available RAM in the Tube as a buffer.
I am trying to do some large file copying from local storage on a
Master onto Econet and it's too slow doing it 10K at a time using
a single processor system, so I have connected up the ARM Co-processor
hoping it might use the whole 16MB as a buffer, then I should be
able to copy most files in a single read.
Unfortunately Logcopy doesn't like it, giving me a "NET filing system
not present" error result from an OSARGS call and then giving me
a Bad FS Map error when I have got round that.
So at the moment I am using trusty old *MOVE but it still seems to
be doing it a few KB at a time whereas I'd hoped it might load in
a whole file into the RAM and then send it down the Econet and
come back for the next file instead of dribbling a bit out at a time.
Best wishes,
Ian
