16MB is the file size limit for Econet Level 3 and the FileStore; I
think it's only 8MB on the MDFS if I remember from doing a backup
which included a 10MB PC Emulator partition a long time back!

There's no such restriction on Level 4 because it uses whatever
local storage is available as determined by the Exports file; there
is no concept of disc partitioning in L4 like L2/3. So it can cope
with file sizes up the maximum the local filing system (in this
case ADFS) can accept. I tested this out yesterday by creating
a 256MB file in the Level 4 area, that's good enough for me!

And I have even remembered to set my User Free Space to
1024MB to prevent a hilarious "Insufficient space" error after
it's been going for 9 hours!

Best wishes,

Ian

Over 16MB? I thought that 16MB was the file size limit on Econet -
however that could be wrong, and I can't think offhand where to look to
check easily.

The !Run file of mine claims to be 1.30, however it's not happy running
on my Risc PC (could be a Select thing), so I can't run it to find out.
It's the one with the pyramid icon, rather than the icon that looks like
a filestore.

I also had a copy of 'advanced' level 4 once, but alas I cannot find it
now.

Cheers
