As I recall the player should be regular SCSI-1 though and I believe it does 
support the inquiry command, so surely hooking it up to any modern machine 
that has a SCSI bus should allow you to copy the data off without lots of 
messing around?

(I'm sure either the Camelion or Domesday 1986 lot would just give you 
necessary images if needs be!)

Never had any troubles myself (other than the usual remembering how to 
configure and navigate the thing each time :-)  but I've seen (and fixed) a 
fair few players - 'orrible things they are, even if they are bloody clever.
