Thanks for that, I seem to be having a lot of problems with SCSI
termination at the moment as you know!
The resistor pack in the SCSI interface is a DIL one, like an IC. It
could be a replacement, date-coded 1984 whereas all the other
ICs on the board are 1986.
I'll try to do a pic of it later.

If they are the SIL (single in Line) type, I've got some and could post
them. I'm not sure if I have any DIL (Dual in Line) ones left.
I've had problems where the termionator paower link is set wrong, and also
where certain drives (some Archive Python tapes drives for instance) have
the lines on the 50 pin, that tey don't use, connected to ground, causing
all kinds of nasties in the cabling.
Check the packs with a test meter - they should read 220 Ohms to the
terminator power rail, (which will connect to 5V eventually), and 330 Ohms
to ground. If the values are too low, then they'll heat up as well as
causing bad reads and writes on the SCSI bus..
