Further to this, I now don't just have a working Econet, I've also
managed to get the first BBS up and running again, wired into a VoIP
adaptor and hooked up to a DDI at work.
Thus, 01924 870834 is answering as a Viewdata V23 BBS running on a
BBC model B with 16k SRAM. It's still running off 5.25" floppy (so
slooowwww) but I hope to rectify that over the weekend. I'll try and
get it answering via SIP so that those with VoIP persuasions can save
on phone bills if you want to give it a go (using G711 codec for
better data results).
It's running the CARBBS software (hacked up a bit to support a couple
of extra things).
Photos of the setup at http://photos.jml.net/c1089667.html - warning,
untidy garage.
Progress reports at http://blog.joel.co.uk/index.php?catid=3 as I do stuff.
Cheers
jx
