Subject: Re: Elite - What was in the box?

I have here a boxed Elite that I'm considering putting on the bay of E as
I'm not emotionally attached to it (and I've seen a few recently making
£££s which I could do with to fund my world dom^k^k^k expansion plans -
sideways RAM etc etc <hello Ian!> ;)

I've seen others that have been advertised as 'complete' though as I am not
the first owner of this game, I'm not in a position to be able to comment
on the completeness of it.

It has the f-key strip, novella, manual, leaflets describing b+ & 2nd pro
operation, the disk (natch) .. and I think that's it.

Was there anything else in the box?

I've got an old cassette version here. It has a cassette, (obviously), a
manual, the novella, a Ship identification foldout card, a keystrip and a
card to apply to join the order of elite.

My own disc version came from 'Superior Software' and had only the disc, the
manual and keystrip. Though it did have both the Master and second processor
versions. I think I fell foul of a minor glitch too. When played on a Master
Turbo, combat could get a bit hairy - I think due to the Turbo running at
4MHz, and the original external coproc running at 3MHz, (Though my wetware
memory might be suffering fomr bit-rot on that point).
