If you can't get the disc all the way in (I'm not going to make any
comment on E-Bay, I know we're not allowed to mention E-Bay,
car boot sales, house clearances, ferreting through skips etc. in
case we accidentally brag about something!!) then the chances are
the metal "cap" protecting the drive head has come loose and is
rattling about inside getting in the way.

Just out of interest, how many of you suffer with failing disk drives? I've
got another last night as part of an eBay win; powers up etc but something
inside is stuck or broken as I can't get the disk the whole way in! Grrr!
Saying that, judging by the state of the casing and the rest of the kit it's
had a hard life...
