Yes, I got the message through but that only proves that a message TO that
address gets through, not that it actually came from there.
You can spoof anyone's email address just by adding it to your own accounts
and, if you send it to yourself, it will duly arrive in your inbox. Outgoing
mail goes through no checks whatsoever provided the email name exists on
YOUR PC.
I invented the name spammer@..., added it to my accounts (on my PC
only, nothing to do with the server) and used it to send myself (and others
as a test) a message. Sure enough, I received it into my inbox marked from
"spammer".
Just as a test, I am going to do the same (not to the list but to the sender
below) - Sorry James, perhaps you could let us know if it comes through?
It will be from a rather important person.
