Subject: MiniB OS upgrade now available
Hi,
For those of you who aren't aware, MiniB is a floppy disc sized single board
computer which is highly compatible with a BBC Model B, to the extent that
you can often run BASIC programs unmodified on the board.
With a PS/2 keyboard and 20x4 LCD display it's ideal for embedded control
applications from greenhouse temperature monitors to burglar alarm system
controllers.
Now available is version 0.39 of the operating system software for MiniB,
which can be downloaded from
http://www.sprow.co.uk/bbc/minib.htm
and programmed into existing boards using the built in flash programming
tool. The Adobe Acrobat documentation has also been updated to reflect the
following new additions.
New features
- added ROM filing system selected with *ROM
- added OSByte 119
- command *SRWRITE now accepts the bank number in decimal or hex
- added *SRREAD command
- added GSRead to compliment GSInit
- a total RAM clear can be requested with OSByte 200
- commands *LOAD and *RUN now expect the filing system to report "Not found"
Problems resolved
- pressing break would not reselect the non default filing system as the
key map always returned the break key as still being pressed
- command *OPT issued the wrong reason code to OSFSCV
- startup boot string was \!Boot rather than /!Boot
- using *LOAD with an override address now sets the correct block flag
- CTRL-break no longer wipes the program in memory so OLD works in BASIC

Sprow.
