I was after *evidence* - something I could use scientifically. Repeating
opinions, even from lots of other people, doesn't make 'em true: "The world
is flat", "The world is flat", "The world is flat"... lol ;-)

This would take me a lot of time. I have:
(a) 1,228 cases
(b) 1,555 e-mails
to sort through, from which I have:
(c) 5 cases where FM fails (that is, in *any* way, read **or** write)
For this reason I keep a list of FM failures rather than successes. If
anyone can supply known failures I want to know...
I hope this explains why I queried the opinion "Most PCs do not do FM.".
The information from Peter has helped, though, as has The BBC lives! (which
also paints a very bleak picture). If JGH has anything more to add (like
evidence!), I'm listening...
