Subject: 8-bit IDE not interfacing
Hi,
This email is mostly directed at Jonathan Harston, since its his circuit
I've built, but all input is welcomed...
I've built the 8-bit IDE interface, and connected it up. I soft-loaded
ADFS 1.53 into sideways RAM (until my EPROM issues get sorted) and...
nothing.
Some probing on the 1Mhz bus side of the interface shows A0/1/2/5/6/7
are operating, R/W is operating, and a clock is present on 1MhzE. The
IDE drive resets as expected on BREAK, but the NPGFC line I can't seem
to get a reading on. Both my Master 128 and Model B show NPGC as
hovering around 3.4V, whether the port is being read/written or not.
Is the line supposed to read that way and I'm just missing a vital bit
of intepretative knowledge? I've checked and rechecked the circuit 4
times.. its in working order and matches the circuit diagram.
Any thoughts?
