Subject: Fw: File image conversion for GoMMC/ Stairway to Hell

Hello David Hunt

Finally got round to putting the HDD0.adl image on to the MMC for GoMMC.

Assume there is a ADFS HD Filing System ROM image that I am required to install
into the GoMMC Filing Systems.......do you have a copy/ or know where I could
find one??

When I tried to use one of the ADFSs, it said Disk selected, but then when
I attempted *CAT, the tape relay clicked.....???

Thanks all for recent replies regarding conversion of PC DFS and TAPE images
into ADFS images. However, I did not explain adequately.

I use GoMMC on a Master computer. I prefer using ADFS to DFS. Also some
TAPE images are not available as DFS images from the 'Stairway to Hell' list.

I thought the quickest way to convert all the downloaded DFS Disc and Tape
images, from 'Stairway to Hell', into ADFS Disc images, would obviously
use the PC. So I was enquiring if anyone could make a program that could
quickl and easily convert multiple DFS/ Tape images into ADFS images. These
could then be easily transferred to GoMMC using GoMMC explorer/ GoMMCio.exe.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

Pete

Hi Peter,

I did write a program to do the transfer of ZIP STH archives to ADFS but
it's not what I would call "re-distributable" !!! A Heath-Robinson lash-up
would be exaggerating the beauty of its construction...

I have uploaded the contents of that GoMMC 512MB ADFS HDD image that contains
the STH archive to a file sharing site.

This is the link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NZ36PXZ4

There are some games that don't like ADFS, I haven't bothered copying over
tape images, 99% of them have been converted to disc images anyway.

You'll need to create a text file called script1.disk with the following
text inside it;

# GoMMC script start
MMCADAG 512MbHDD1.adl HDD0
# GoMMC script ends

then to program your GoMMC create a batch file, e.g. HDD.bat that contains
the following;

gommcio -dK -f script1.disk

You will need to change the -d[MMC Card Drive Letter] from K to whatever
your MMC card reader drive letter is. The -f clears the card - i.e. you'll
lose everything on it.

For any of this to work, you'll need a 512MB or greater MMC card. I use a
2GB card with a combination of HDDs, DFS disc images and tape images.

Cheers

Dave ;)
