Subject: BBC Floppies

Don't use HD disc in a normal BBC drive. they may seem to format aand write
OK, but will mysteriously lose data over time. I got caught by this one way
back when. The heads can't generate a big enough field to write thenm
properly, as I recall. I don't think there is any way to run up the HD mode
of an IBM 5.25" drive from a BBC, because the timings and data recovery are
different.

Do you need and 80 track DD drive or two? then you can email me off list,
because I have quite a few left from the schools repair days.
