When I bought my Beeb system in 1984, I had two single sided 40 tracks
disc drives, both costing me NLG 650 each! Those were the days.

These single sided drives has the real head underneath, and the upper
side had a felt tip that landed with a click on the top side of the
disc when the drive was activated.

When those discs were read in a two-sided disc drive, contents was
available as drive 0 - or drive 2 when using the other drive - and
I never had seen this data as drive 1/3.

It's therefor my believe there has always been great consensus about
which side of a disc is the first side vs second side.

So al those bridges with disc drives in it, were - afaict - wrong in
putting '0' at the top and '2' at the bottom. Same for 1/3: '1' above
'3', which should be the opposit.
Well, if you wish to mimic the real physical situation. :-)
