I don't think they're M512, simply because the M512 disks that I do have seem 
to have 'GEM' plastered all over some of them.

Oh, I wish :-)

I spoke to one ex-employee who worked on the project, and he estimates that 
only about 20 were made - and not even all of those were put into cases. The 
handful that did get assembled were apparently pressed into service within 
Acorn as development boxes for the Master 512 hardware. In other words, I 
don't think there ever was a specific software bundle for them because the 
hardware itself was never - as such - released.
