(Darren Grant) Subject: modern BBC remake A portable front end already exists called VNC that runs on Windows, Mac and any Unix/Linux you can make it compile on. The interface is open so a network processor could pick-up the frames from the output of the BBC and display them anywhere. The system can then be put anywhere not just inside/alongside the computer and ensures platform independence and a long life as PCI is now defunct.
