Nothing :) (far as I can tell there wasn't even anything special about machine 
serial numbers either)

I might be getting muddled (it happens all too frequently!) - I thought 
originally someone was talking about running L3 FS on a model B with an 
external cheese wedge 6502; at which point I wondered if the same code would 
just happen to run on a Master Turbo.

I can't remember for sure what I did when I booted a L3 FS last year. Thinking 
about it some more, I'm almost certain that was actually a Turbo that I hung 
the hard disk off, which suggests there's certainly *a* release of the LS FS 
code that works with the Master. Whether there was just a single release that 
worked with both Master and B is another matter...
