Hehe, I've had that happen to about 6 of mine (and an Apple IIe, a CBM
8050 drive, and a Triumph-Adler Alphatronic PC). The last one, I
didn't even bother switching it off, I just carried on using it as it
fizzed and smoked. Caused a lot of concern to the bloke standing next
to me though :-)

I normally just carry on using them after they've blown, but I did
have to rinse the case and PSU of one in detergent (and dry it
thoroughly), because it really did smell for days afterwards.
