Wow! I didn't think they would be *that* compatible. Last week I stumbled
upon a comprehensive write-up about the Dragon rise and fall:

http://www.dragon-archive.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8&Itemid=27

It should line out the similarities and differences between the CoCo's and
Dragon's. One can ask yourself if there is more profit in redesigning an
existing computer, do all the manufacturing and sales yourself than simply
sign a deal to license the Tandy in UK/Europe. As far as I remember, the
TRS-80 machines at a whole didn't have a lot of following over here.

If GCE had released a MSX computer that also was Dragon compatible, it would
be something: Z80 + 6809 and TMS-99XX emulating the MC6847 ?

In the newsgroup comp.sys.sinclair, some people wrote about then their ZX
Spectrums broke down during warranty, and they got to lend a spare machine.
More than once these "spares" turned out to be Dragon 32:s! It says
something about which computer was easier to sell than the other.

By the way, the Dragon 32 (and for a short while the 64) at least were
marketed and sold in Sweden, unlike the BBC Micro series which all are
semi-rare on this horizon.
