So I gathered, which is why the solution I proposed deals
with disc images (which is what GoMMC basically does). Not
individual files.

Use GoMMC's MMCADDG tool to copy a physical floppy as a
DFS image to the MMC, and GoMMC's MMCFlop tool to copy a
DFS image on the MMC back to a physical floppy.
