I'm thinking here that it's trying to print "Mistake", and it's
already been pointed out that it won't be trying to beep at you.
What puzzles me is why it would hang in the middle of printing a
particular string. Total guesswork on my part here, but perhaps your
BASIC ROM image has a problem, or maybe there's a problem with reading
from certain addresses.
