It wasn't meant to be harsh - my first Acorn was an Electron, saved up
for with money from my paper round (it cost ?20). After seeing a
friend's one a couple of years before, I knew I had to have one.
Eventually I saved up for a Plus 1, and after that I managed so save
?150 for a PRES AP3 and a disk drive! I still have them, along with
about 6 other Electrons, some with Master RAM Boards, sideways RAM,
etc. The last thing I got was an Electron with a Plus 1 and a Plus 3
from an auction, for a couple of quid. Wonderful stuff. (I haven't
even used the Plus 3, because I don't have the correct power supply,
and I don't want to break it!)

I probably don't have a spare - but it's quite tolerant of voltages
due the design of the internal power board. I've run mine off 9V DC ZX
Spectrum power supplies. I've even used an Amstrad CTM644 monitor from
a CPC6128 - that will both power the Electron from its 5V output, and
work as a monitor because the plug's the same.
