My thought would be to get a replacement, ie. another A3010, off ebay when 
you see one. If the impact was so hard as to snap off the transformer... 
then its equally probable that there is other damage not visible to the 
naked eye, e.g. PCB fracture damage.  I would have thought another A3010 
would be cheaper than sourcing a new transformer + soldering time + risk of 
it still not working.

If A3010 is rare on ebay, send an email around again asking who has one in 
an attic box for sale!
