The BBC Micro was also very useful as a tool for showing off how
computers could be used in industrial and control applications - there
were so many things you could hook up to it to demonstrate things.

School IT lessons (rather that those which just use the computer as a
teaching aid)  in those days were strictly "How computers work".
These days they are more like "How to use Microsoft Windows".
