Subject: ADFS disc image interleave?

I know I used to have problems when trying to write ADFS disc images on a PC.
The 640K images never seemed to work, it was putting head 0 track 0 next
to head 1 track 0 etc. so jumbling everything up. It was probably an incorrect
setting with FDC but as far as I remember, I've been able to do this OK with
Omniflop as I've got things like the FileStore Welcome Disc successfully from
.adf image onto a disc.

BBC ADFS only uses 256-byte sectors. I think the Archimedes uses 1024
byte sectors, others will know more about this.

Best wishes,

Ian

Subject: [BBC-Micro] ADFS disc image interleave?

Hello all,

A couple of basic questions about disc image files:-

1) Is there some documentation for .adl, .add, .ade and .adf files? I have
dumps of each side of some discs that I'm looking to merge. A quick glance
at some existing .adls shows lots of texture breaks not necessarily at 4
KB boundaries.
2) What does it mean when there are five 1024 byte sectors in a track numbered
from 1 to 5 instead of 0 to 4?

Thanks for your help
