AFAICR when I was at the RESOURCE, the A500 there initially booted (A500 
hardware specific) Arthur off disc, and then in due course we were sent 
(A500 hardware specific) Arthur ROMs etc.

I think with the ROMs came various hardware upgrades too - ARM1 to ARM2 at 
a guess being the main one.
