It seems to be common(ish) practice, and I hear Acorn initially
developed MOS 2.00 by plugging MOS 1.20 into a B+.
I remember seeing adverts for add-ons where you could have MOS
1.20 on a carrier board and switch between it and the onboard MOS
2.00.
