Subject: Microvitec Tripler

That's the classic Tripler failure, the internal resistors blow, or change 
resistance, and the voltage to the focus grid gets upset so it won't focus. 
It may be possible to hack up another divider chain from the HT output, but 
at the risk of arcing everywhere, it's safer to replace the tripler and be 
done with it.

I've got a late model (early 90s) 1431 that won't quite focus. The
control operates smoothly, and I think the unit's not had much use,
but the 'best' position of the adjustment isn't quite good enough.
What could cause that?
