Hmm.....do you get a grey "box" on the screen, the same size as the charater 
width and height, or does the grey background go all the way to the edge of 
the screen at the sides and top/bottom? Does it do it in any other screen 
mode? Tried MODE 7 and MODE 135?

Are you using a CRT monitor, or LCD? It's not a "feature" of treecopy, as it 
should just be a balck background, something isn't right there.

PS...Treecopy is Basic, so should be CHAIN...may not make a difference if 
you've got the addresses set, but just try it anyway...?
