I'm getting odd stuff on the BeeB now..
 
If i close down XFER and re-start it with out touching the BBC from the  last 
attempt i get the following:
 
>-----BBC-----PC-----
 
Syntax error
>100001
 
Syntax error 
>4800 (or 9600 or whatever baud rate is set)
 
re-closing Xfer and re-starting constantly produces the same result on the  
Beeb.
I'm using a real com port on a laptop not a usb port and the cable was  
purchased from Sprow so it should be good.
