It's worth mentioning that using /dev/fd0u720 and the like will not
help you at all as far as writing dfs/adfs disks goes...
Linux without additional software is not capable of writing anything
but 512 byte sectors to a floppy, certainly you can't just cat/dd a
DFS disk image to /dev/fd* and expect it to work, it won't, if the
disk is formatted in some PC format it'll sit there happily writing
two DFS sectors to each DOS sector and likely appear to have worked
however there's no way the disk will be readable in a BBC
