I'm not sure that we would get anywhere with special cases for copyright.
The governments seem to be in favor of stricter copyright regardless of the
cultural significance of something. The case of Great Ormond street hospital
is an easy case because it was at the request of the author or the authors
estate to have a special extension to copyright.
What we are asking for here is for the copyright to be overturned so that
the material is in the public domain or at least making it crown copyright.
I can't see that happening as all the copyright lobbyists will see it as a
potential threat to copyright and will push against it.
