Well, a soldering iron and a crimp tool.
It was done because I wanted a simple way of linking my desk Beeb upstairs
with the Econet fileservers in the garage without laying new cable or
having to muck around when I moved stuff into another room. It's the only
station not in the garage.
(I have 48 ports of structured Cat5e cabling through the house, terminating
in a wall-mount rack in the garage. We installed when we first moved in -
runs house phones, data, Econet, etc. Quite comedy when we get a new phone
line put in when we tell the engineer to put it at the back of the garage,
roughly 6" from the ceiling!)
