With a decent RGB->SCART cable, I find that my 14" Sony CRT gives nearly 
as good a picture as a Microvitec Cub.
I think the picture quality you get will depend mainly on the quality of 
the TV you use.

I've had rather mixed success with LCD TVs - one looked very good with 
my Beeb connected, but the other one I have didn't like the Beeb's 
signal much, and the picture jittered up and down, and wasn't really usable.

There's a vendor on eBay that sells very good ones - I bought one and it 
did the job great.

They aren't cheap, but I value the time it would take me to make one,
