The information on Sprow's 16-bit interface is still there. I tried
to clarify the information some time ago and checking the main page
I notice I've still got the link to 16bit/ still inside a comment.
I'll tweek it later.

It sets the geometry to 64 sector per track and 4 heads per
cyclinder which multiplies to 256, so the byte of the drive_id data
that is unreadable will always be zero anyway.
