According to Andrew Benham's pages (admittedly hidden in a .jpg),
Solidisk DFS V2.1F, and ADFS V2.1D is compatible with the later
(Acorn compatible) versions of the Solidisk upgrade boards.

See:
http://www.adsb.co.uk/bbc/disk_controllers/ddfs_v2.jpg, and
http://www.adsb.co.uk/bbc/disk_controllers/

According to the second link, the controller addresses are very
different (FE80-FE83 for the V1 Solidisk, and FE84-FE87 for the
Acorn compatible ones). As a result, searching for accesses to FE81
in a given Solidisk ROM should determine if its an old one (if there are)
, or an Acorn compatible one (if there aren't).

Perhaps its just my historic horrific experiences with the Solidisk SWR
upgrades, but I personally wouldn't want to use their DFS or ADFS code
unless there was nothing else available.

Regards

Michael
