I don't know for sure, but I would guess that the intellectual property
rights in the 8-bit stuff remained with the original Acorn Computers Ltd
when the other parts of the business were sold off.  That company still
seems to exist today (as number 01403810) though it's now known as
Element 14 Ltd.  I think it was bought by Broadcom at some point so they
seem like the most likely party to claim ownership of the software.
