I concur.

I've had Teletext TVs /almost/ decode the text from old VHS tapes..
SVHS is supposed to be fine, if you can find one.  Remember not to use
any extended-play options, though...

At one point back in, um, 1988, I tried to get a Beeb to /generate/
teletext signals, by moving the top of a (Mode 0) screen up into the
right area, and constructing the bit streams manually.  I never got
very far with it, partly due to the only teletext TV being at the
opposite side of the flat, making testing somewhat difficult..  It
might be something to consider retrying sometime...
