Subject: Morley Teletext Adapter

Hello,

There could certainly be differences in the equipment between our two
countries. I know my parents in their summer cottage were forced to switch
to digital TV a couple of years ago. Their digital box has a built in
teletext interface so I believe the box generates the signal, not the old
teletext interface in the TV. Apart from the public service TV, we also have
a couple of commercial distributors who offer various subscriptions. Every
digital box tends to be different so it is possible their boxes don't
support teletext. However since teletext is used for optional subtitling
(*), I think they all support it for now.

(*) I believe in theory digital TV can have its own subtitle tracks, but not
yet.

I live in an apartment with cable TV which still is analogue and will
probably be for a number of years forward.

But in case the broadcasts end, someone might come up with alternative uses.
For example a device that goes online to fetch the latest Twitter and submit
it as a teletext signal. On the other hand one could fetch those messages
from the Internet and display on the computer directly without doing a
double conversion over teletext... :-D

Best regards
