NFS 3.34 certainly was famously buggy and I think most people upgraded
to 3.60 for that reason alone.

Possibly the most egregious bug was that OSARGS A=1, Y=0 (get parameter
from command line) would return completely the wrong thing. I think
printing was also fairly badly broken in 3.34, and there were a variety
of other more minor issues as well. Plus, as other posters have noted,
3.34 had the concept of "privileged stations" which meant that *PROT was
ignored if the sender was station 240 or higher. This was removed in
3.60 though there were some third-party hacks to the NFS ROM which
reinstated it in some form or other.

I think chapter 10 of the SJ MDFS manual has more details of the
differences between the two versions, but I'd be surprised if there was
much/any application code out there that only worked with 3.34. What's
the actual problem you're having?
