It may not be Acorn's own, but certainly in the mid-80s Acorn were using 
PostScript printers (Apple Laserwriters) on the Econet and sending them 
View documents.  So I'd guess it's a printer driver, but not the usual 
View kind that View uses directly, as those drivers aren't big enough to 
hold the data you'd need.  Indeed, the converter I saw was quite large 
and probably abut the right size for a ROM, though IIRC it ran from floppy.
